Why are parents so F**KED UP?

I was staying with my father and the opportunity came for me to attend college early. My tuition was cut in half because I was still in high school ( all I nedded was a english and elective to graduate) Him and my mother was supposed to pay half of the $28,000 my mom paid her half and my father only paid once( the first week of school) so now I am 14,000 in debt that was 5 years ago. I completely cut him off. Now my mother has always put her friends and boyfriends first instead of me thats why I went to live with my father. Now that I'm older I don't take no sh!t from no one. I recently lost my job and I was suppose to use her car to look for a job while my mom was away on vacation, we had already made plans but on the day she left she said she was going to give her boyfriend her car because his ac blew out. I was like ok give me his car and I'll ride in the hot muthaf**ka but as soon as she left he was driving drunk and recked her car. I'm cutting her off too. 22 years of this sh!t

My father f*cked me over when I was 17 I was not an adult I was still in high school. My mom has done this to me my whole life. I'm 22 now and I've lived on my own. I've been on my own since I was 18. Parents are obligated to their children yes they owe us the world not hell. I've been in debt before I was even the legal age. I've always been alone I'm not a fault so people don't make it seem like I'm not grateful, I'm grateful for my life, not the wrong sh!t my parents have put me through

wow sounds really bad. The one good way to look at all of this is that you now have seen everything NOT to do, so if you strive to always do better than them and make better choices you will be fine!

You're over 21. How about taking some responsibility for your own life instead of blaming everyone else for not looking after you the way you want. Get a job, pay off the debts that YOU incurred. Buy your own car or ride a bike. Ever heard of public transport or walking? College doesn't seem to be doing much for you especially the English grammar classes. Your mother did put you first when she forked up the money for your tuition. She has a right to her happiness in life which ever way she finds it. You are considered grown up. Now start acting like it!

You seem to think that Your parents owe you something. They took care of you for a long time and yes they may have returned to putting their values first but you are old enough to take care of yourself. Instead of being grateful for what they did for you it seems you focus on the negatives. Grow up and realize life is not easy and somewhere along the way you have to fend for yourself. There are many people you age that did not the support you had and wish they could have had parents to ***** about.

No simple answer, but parents are screwed up or seem to be screwed up because they're either not ready or unable to be a parent or were screwed up by they're parents.

There is no guide book, no manual on kids. Every body has to try on they're own, or get help/advice from parents/friends/family/books etc. But with out trying or trying to hard, or a great many other things, its way to easy to just get it wrong.

Remember, you need a license to fish, hunt and even drive. But any old idiot can have kids.

22? sounds like you need to get your life together and stop depending on your parents because they seem not to come through for you anyway. take the bus or walk and get a job until you can afford to start paying off YOUR college in small payments each check. or go see if the payments can be reduced so you can pay them off (when you get a job)

poor thing.. some parents r f**ked up unfortunately but what u need to do is let them know that!! then make some friends or go to other family members when ur down on ur luck.. if u know ur parents r no good then why keep going to them when u need help, it's only gonna piss u off more and make the situations even worse.. i'd avoid them altogether..

just call and say hi, send a card, write a letter and keep it moving..

your parents are ****ed up and when they die their cold, agonizing deaths in pain, you will be laughing at them. they had their chance and so on. they'll be gone and you'll be happy. just think of that day. it's good that you don't let people walk over you. nice quality to have.
