Now let me correct him.

Leviticus 18:22 states: "Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination."

Leviticus 20:13 states: "If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they should surely be put to death....".

This goes for lesbians and gays. Anyone beg to differ?

Dev, are you not reading? MAN SHALL NOT LIE WITH MAN! Let me break it down for you: that means a man and a man or a woman and a woman. What part don't you get?

Robb, this is God's word. As much as you want to blame this on me and others, this is God's word. i'm sorry if you're offended by it. You can read it for yourself if you'd like. And just to let you know, I do have friends who ARE homosexuals, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with their lifestyle. They know I don't agree with it, but that doesn't come between our friendship. All I can do is pray for them. Anything else? *Generalization shot down!*

You know, He showed his anger about homosexuality by destroying Sodom and Gomorrah. That is why homosexuality between men is called "sodomy". God was very clear about it, and it is still applicable.

Yes, it says that in the old testament.
Christians, however, are supposed to believe in Jesus' law, which wiped away the rabbinical law of the old testament. If you're going to claim you should do what the old testament says to do, then you have to stop eating pork, start setting aside women for several days before, during, and after their periods as "unclean," stone people for certain sins, etc. What, you don't do those things? Then why pick this particular item from the old testament to follow? Hypocritical? Yep.

Jesus said to love one another. To do good to those that despise you. That the "old law" was gone. Why do you ignore him just because you're a hating homophobe?

I'm neither christian nor homosexual, just can't stand you hypocritical, intolerant pretend-to-be-christians. You don't even follow you own leader's teachings.

Oh, and Caboman -- there ARE no bibles from 1500 years ago. The "bible" as comprised today didn't exist then. And there certainly weren't ANY writings that are now in the bible in English that long ago. So how do you propose to prove the KJV is "word for word accurate" with stuff that old? Hmm?

That is correct the bible does say that, and it also advocates genocide (Joshua 10:40-42 and I Samuel 15: 2, 3 and 8), slavery (Numbers 31: 17-18), killing kids who eat or drink too much (Deuteronomy 21: 18-21) and a whole host of practices that the entire world considers hideously wrong.

It also states that world has corners (Isaiah 11:12) and that it sets on pillars (I Samuel 2:8) beetles have four legs instead of six (Leviticus 11: 21-23) and that rabbits chew their cud (Deuteronomy 14:7). All of these have been totally proved false.

Keep mouthing off about about how the bible is "truth"

I beg to differ. The standard of what is and is not an abomination is messed up:

9 ‘These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers—that you may eat. 10 But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. 11 They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. 12 Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales—that shall be an abomination to you.

Leviticus 11:9-12 (New King James Version)

So this teaches from the same Leviticus that gay sex is just as bad as eating shrimp.

We are intelligent enough to know that God doesn't think the same about people who eat shrimp as he does people who are gay, aren't we?

God didn't write the bible. Did the words magically appear? No? I didn't think so. The bible has many authors how can you be sure every word in it is for the highest good of all. God doesn't need you to judge people. It isn't your job to do. If God hasn't spoken to you personally and told you what is right or wrong then I would advise you to just live your life as best as you can and let others decide how they wish to live theirs. Allow others to believe and live as they choose, just as you want that same respect. Spread love and light up the world.

This does not discuss lesbianism. You are not reading the literal meaning of the Bible but writing into it what you wish had been said.
In fact, these quotes aren't even condemning homosexuality. They are condemning bisexuality. A homosexual does not lie with men and women the same way. When he lies down with a man he has sex. When he lies with a woman they are probably just taking a nap. Gays don't have sex with men and women but your Bible passages condemn ony those who have sex with both men and women. Literalism, of course, is thrown out the window when reading the text literally doesn't get you the answer you want.

Your questions is really shallow dude. To say God only speaks to Homosexuals and not other people is so wrong. Quoting Leviticus is like quoting the Klu Klux Klan manual. If you really believe the crap in there then why haven't you gone out and killed some of your neigbors? Do you lack the courage of your convictions or do you expect God to do your dirty work for you. People who breed evil will reap evil.

I agree with you, we are all sinners, in one way or another. Repent, ask forgiveness, and give thy hear to the Lord Jesus Christ.

And by the way Nostromo, the KJV of the Bible, the most trustworthy Bible in existence, has been compared to Bibles from 1500 years ago, and they are practucally word for word accurate. It is the false religions that have written the NIV and other false translations, but the KJV has been certified as practically word for word accuracy against ancient versions. It is the Truth and nothing but.

I ****** differ. 3 guys just beat up gays in San Diego with baseball bats. I lump you with the perpetrators of this hate crime. You would have joined in on the beatings, you spiteful hypocrite. I thought God's message was love?

I am christian, but when all these christians started defending that sinner Mel Gibson and bashing gays, I have converted to the side of love, tolerance and independent thinking. You're a douchebag, by the way. ha ha ! hee haw!

BEING GAY ISNT A PREFERENCE!!!

Ive been gay since i can remember... never been turned on by a woman. i've even forced myself to try and look at girls that way. am I to be persecuted by people and then damned eternally because of something I have NO CHOICE over? WRONG!!! I'M A CHRISTIAN and I completely believe that if God didnt have a purpose for my life, He wouldnt have made me AS I AM. God loves EVERYONE. Jesus died for EVERYONE. Jesus even said it himself: The Law rests on 2 commandments: (1) love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength, etc.. (2) love your neighbor as yourself. Being prejudiced against gay people is the same as hating someone because of their color, religion, nationality etc.

gosh... some people are just so ignorant...

Both quotes are silent about lesbians.

I'm not differing from you... you are differing from the bible. Are you trying to play god and set the rules?

PS: nothing you said has contradicted hardrocker.

All hardrocker was saying is that regardless of whether homosexuality is right or worng in the bible, IT IS NOT YOUR PLACE TO JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE.

You're playing god and can go piss off.
