Smellyteddy says.
"Burgh Island is about 30 mins from where I live. It is just outside of Plymouth in the South Hams, at a beach called bigby, you can take pets there but I don't know about smellyteddys, by the way have you seen my left leg anywhere?"

Depends on fact or fiction.
Agatha Christie's favorite hotel is your fiction. Fact is here's how to drive there (from London)

BY ROAD
From London or the Midlands - M5 to Exeter, M5/A38 direction Plymouth. 15 miles out of Plymouth, Woodpecker Inn on your left (sign reading “next left and left again”). Within quarter of a mile, exit at Wrangton Cross, sign-posted to Modbury (A379). Through Modbury, follow signs to Bigbury and Bigbury-on-Sea. At St Anne's Chapel please telephone 01548 810514 from the callbox (mobile reception should not be relied on in the immediate area). Please follow directions to the residents’ garages; do not try to drive across the causeway.
