ive resorted to feeding my URI kitten babyfood through a suringe, shes actually starting to act a little better...is there anything i can try in the suringe that she will take without me forcing it into her? Ive tried tuna juice (vet recommended) baby food, numerous types of moist food...even adding water into the moist food to make it more of a liquid, i havent tried kitten milk yet, where do i find it and what should i feed it to her with? also im not home until 5pm...so ive been feeding her at 5:30pm, 8pm, 11pm, 3am & 6am...think thats ok??

my guniea pig had an Upper Respitory Infection as well (last mounth) but luckley he still ate(he loves his food).

realy you should see if you can get a friend or nabour to try to feed her in the day. (some one she knows and you trust who uoy can teach how to do it right)

try feeding it food that has a strong smell and tast as if it cant small it propley it is less likley to eat it. some types of fish are quite strong smelling. try that solid or blended.

you could ask if you can leave it with the vet untill it is better as there vet nurses are traind to getr them to eat.

if not then i think you are stuck suringe feeding it untill its better. hopefully it wont take long for the antibotics to kick in.
good luck

first of all, a kitten that young needs to be fed more often, so you need someone to come into your house to feed the kitten at least every2 hours. it is essential that you give the kitten kitten milk (buy at a pet store or ask the vet) and it is also essential that you stop feeding the kitten baby food. you do not use a syringe.you need a eye dropper. when you buy the kitten milk, the feeding directions will be on the can/bottle.baby food does not give the kitten the nutrients that it needs to grow to be a healthy cat. tuna juice should probably be fed later on in the kittens life(the kitten is not familiar with the taste and will not eat it because it only knows the taste of its milk and will only eat that.

she needs to be given a feeding during the day, i would say every 3 hours or so. You can get baby kitten formula at walmart and little bottles for kittens too. Once you get the bottle and formula you shouldn't have to force feed her. I have had to hand raise many kittens and rabbits. Good luck!

I can't believe your vet recomended tuna juice. He should have a dehydrated milk for newborns. Ask another vet. They also keep bottles in stock for just such occasions.
