I want my father to be close to me because if its too late he can never go back and sooner or later I'll be having my family. What should I do I'm Much closer to my science instructor is that because we see each other every day for some reason I want my father to be just like my science instructor.

It sounds like you aren't doing your part to try and get closer. Try asking him to do things with you like go to the movies or go out to dinner. If you don't want to be straight forward then you can drop hints like "Why don't we try this or this together?" You need to do your part by talking to him; it's not all his responsibility to make a relationship with you. It's your job as a daughter to work to form a solid relationship with your father but he as well should try. I suggest just speaking with him once in a while or tell him what you announcing to the world(that you want a relationship like you have with you science instructor). Good luck and never give up!

Oh, I FEEL for you. I can taste it. For years I wanted my father to understand and respect and care for me. He didn't and couldn't. After years, I concluded he didn't know how as he'd never learned and he sure couldn't learn from me. Many years later, it came to me that the only thing to be done was to take what little, tiny amount he could give and let the rest go. Hurts to this day--and I'm old as dirt. If your science instructor or some other adult can be your ersatz father, take what you can and grieve for the father you don't have.

If you want to be closer to your Dad find some thing that you both like to do or that you both like to talk about, just hang out with him you will get closer (your family can be your best friends).

try talking to your father. he will never be just like your science instructor, because he is not. but if you dont let your father know then you are just as gulity as he is.

you will be closer to ur father with age-- sounds like u have a crush on your science teacher-- and u like the attention he gives you- but dont forget- the teacher is being paid to be around you- your father loves you regardless

we tend to get close to other older people because we lack of that in our family...like in this case, you lack of your father....nonetheless you still have time to do something about,. but don't hessitate....go and hug him and love him, and go out and do things together....and do it now, this is not a command....this is an order....before you loose him...
