thing is ... regardless of if its happening or not (which i do think so), why does it take an issue like this to make us decide if we really need to take care of the planet we live on or not?? Thats the whole point of proving global warning. Why dont we act responsibly and not pollute as much and stop cutting down rainforests etc anyway?.. mankind is messed up and too drivin by greed.

30 years ago our best environmental scientists agreed that the Earth was in the beginning stages of an ice age!!! They even suggested that by spreading black suit and ash on the polar ice caps they would absorb heat and melt to counteract the "ice age" process.
Now, these same scientists and the next generation of their peers are saying the total opposite. The ice caps are actually getting THICKER though.
so which do you believe? Many scientists are basing theories based on measurments taken in the last 150 years made by inaccurate equipment and inconsistent methods across the globe. Also they're using recorded data from as far back as the middle ages when the accuracy of temperature and climate measuring was virtually simplistic and errant compared to the technology we have today.
Is the planet warming? Some say yes, others say no. Either way, is it Mankind's fault? I doubt it.

The world is getting warmer. But no one really knows if it is happening naturally or because of mankind's actions. In reality, there may be nothing we humans can do to stop it.
If you think humans are causing global warming, you ought to go preach to the governments of China and India; they are the worst polluters in the world.

Its a really bad piece of fiction that so many have bought into it. Reminds me of the Orson Welles War of the worlds radio broadcast so many years ago.
Sadly, so many people are so easily duped into believing something like this w/o even doing basic research and observation. The geologic record still indicates we are within the temperature and rainfall averages for 1000s of years.

It is an absolute fact, period. The real question is how fast is it occurring due to our actions (burning fossil fuels accelerates warming) versus how much of it is due to periodic global changes (such as wobbles in the earth’s rotation and its orbit). Certainly, our actions contribute to warming so we should make an effort to do our part and reduce atmospheric pollution.

One thing they never mention is the decreasing title of the planet, exposing greater areas of the north and south poles to UV radiation for longer periods every year. The Arctic circle, the area of shadow where during certain periods there is no sunlight in mid-winter, is getting smaller.

It's happening and you don't need scientists to explain. Just look around you and compare to over 100years ago.
For example, over 100years ago, every year the River Thames in London used to freeze and people could skate on it, not anymore. The Maldives is slowly sinking because the glaciers are melting and each year inches of islands is lost to water.
I could go on, but just look around you and see for yourself.

I am not all to sure about global warming but I am sure about one thing and that is time is running out.
This planet is going to be burned up not in a nuclear blast like everyone assumes it will man will not destroy Gods creation God will in his on time because man refuses to reconize him as the creator.
My Theroy is that we will be hureled into the sun and be burnt to a crisp.

I think it's a bunch of bung. The earth tilts on its axis every so many centuries. It happened when Atlantis went down and that's what is happening now.

global warming? maybe, maybe not. what precisely will happen is still only theory. what is fact though is that the CO2 levels have never been higher and are still going up. do you really really wanna take the chance that nothing bad will happen? madness! start building air scrubbers now!
