My beagle Levi knows tons of tricks. First off, don't believe that you can't teach an old dog new tricks, he's eight, and just last year he learned to "settle". Lets see, well he knows the basics "no" "ok" "stay" as well as "sit" "lay down" "settle" "roll over" (and he'll roll over in whichever direction you're pointing) "sit up" "jump" "shake" "kisses". Oh, and lets not forget "heel" "time to go peepee" "come on up" (onto our couch, beds etc) "go to your bed" (he has a different bed in three of the rooms in the house) "come here".
Despite all of these, the most usefull, and entertaining command Levi has learned is "go". "Go" means that he needs to leave whichever room he is in and "go" to the next one. If we're in the living room eating, and he's begging us (or just bugging us) we simply tell him "go" and he sits patiently in the next room until we tell him "come here".
Levi is a fast learner, and he loves learning new tricks, because I pair the learning process with lots of praise, pets, playtime and food rewards. I'd teach him more, but I'm fresh out of ideas, and while his mind is still sharp, his body can't do anything too difficult. As long as you make training time into fun time, your canine friend will adore you for it

My Long-haired Rabbit Dachshund knows over 100 commands and tricks I have been teaching her sense she was 1 month old.The list would be to long to name them all.but she knows everything from hide-and-go-seek to covering herself up. not all dogs can learn that many commands and tricks you have to have a smart dog i also have a Pomeranian and he isn't smart like Lady (Dachshund) but he knows the basics. My dog loves learning new tricks, dogs need the stimulation to be happy, healthy dogs. I am 14 and I have a dog training business.

it really isn't any longer too overdue in any respect! i found that clicker training worked tremendous with my 11 365 days previous sheltie (and that is a incredibly previous canine!). i wanted to attempt coaching him to bypass grab my vehicle keys (as a herding canine, he changed into in no way incredibly into taking area in fetch - he could only bark at issues). A clicker is a coaching device that makes a *click-click* noise. You click, then you supply a delicious take care of precise afterwards. The canine learns that the clicking ability he receives a take care of. quickly, the canine will attempt to determine out a thanks to make you click. it really is astounding because the dogs like it and study incredibly instantly (the keys difficulty took about a week of me training each once in awhile). I placed some aspects on the bottom for better information. The yahoo crew Clicker recommendations has various operating shoes, from those who only were given a canine and have not all started training yet, to those who prepare search for and rescue dogs, all with clickers. :)

My dog knows sit, down, play dead, roll-over, high five, give me ten, shake, bow, crawl, dance, off, stay, and we are currently working on counting (make it look like he knows how to count). He loves doing tricks, he gets so very excited that he often tries to do a trick before I have told him which one to do. As far as learning new tricks, he tends to get frustrated at times and try to do one of the old tricks instead of the new one we are working on, but he catches on relatively quickly.

My dog knows the basics. He also knows upstairs, down stairs, stop, go potty, left and right, roll over, over there, sit pretty, shake, high 5, wave, and at meal time I ask him "What do you want" and he will paw his bowl. Always working on more. A bored dog gets into trouble. A dog needs his mind exercised as well as his body.

He's not to bright Lab.

Learning how to train your dog will improve your life and hers, enhance the bond between you, and ensure her safety and it can be a lot of fun. Dogs are usually eager to learn, and the key to success is good communication. Your dog needs to understand how you’d like her to behave and why it’s in her best interest to comply with your wishes. My dog knows sit, down, stay, come, and heel in German. She also barks to the German command for guard.
For everyday commands, she knows "go lie down" (quit bothering her owner), "out" (leave the room), "outside" (go out to her kennel) "no" (in German) "good dog" (in German) and "leave it" (in German and English). For tricks, the only thing she knows yet is to give you her paw.
