I am from the South (London) and I now live in the north (south Yorkshire) there is no difference, if you work hard you will be better off no matter where you live. The people are friendly wherever you are if you have the right attitude, it is what you make of a place that will make you happy. I was happy in London but had to move here for my family`s sake and I am very happy here so it dosn`t matter where you are. good luck.

The North-South "divide" is often contained in the prejudices of Northerners. Southerners commonly do no longer care about such myths. My first sojourn Oop North turned right into a watch-opener. I were delivered up with the thoughts of poverty and deprivation contained in the North, in easy words to locate the cost of residing a lot lower than down South. There accepted wages were about 50% larger than the better positive wages down South (1962). on the instantaneous, a suitable Southern tradesman could anticipate between £11-12.00 a week, even as labourers, contained in the North, were on £15-25.00 a week! Northerners rail on the "Southern Toffs". They ignore concerning the very incontrovertible fact that the final public of Southerners are operating classification; earn lower than them, yet pay "toffs'" expenditures! I surely ought to say, having lived in maximum areas of the united kingdom, that Northerners ARE demonstrably warmth and inviting. Southerners are slightly reserved, yet only as reliable neighbours! the muse for this can be that the historic Northerners were all of the same tribe: the Brigantes!.......... from which the be conscious Brigand originates............. rofl........... i ask your self...........

Yeah, the North is far superior! My temporary exile into the South has given me experiece of both. The South only think's it is better because everything is more expensive, they fail to realise they are being robbed. Anything a person could ever wish for is in the North of England.

I'm from the North and living in the South. If it can be believed, the North East has the highest percentage of scroungers in the UK, i.e. those claiming benefits etc, all being paid for by the taxpayers of the South.

Oh yes, people from the north (northen monkeys) are very sociable but also blunt and to the point, whereas people from the south (southern softies)are brash and flash with far to much cash. But if you look to the east we will offend the least and if your looking for men then come to the FENS

Don't know about prosperity, but I do know that northerners are a lot nicer, not in a rush to get along etc. If I could live anywhere, it would be in Scotland, for sure

i think us northerners have it sussed now, good pay, less stress more countryside and cheaper houses. london is good but we dont get packed in like sardines and we have just as good a nightlife, we have a good rail and motorway network with less combustion, we can travel about easier and quicker and we can pay for our homes in less time than southerners. southerners pay all their lives for a poxy little shack and we get a detached for a tenth of the price, less crime and we dont have hose pipe bans.
