Because most people regard fast food service and delivery as work for teenagers, idiots, or both. They tend not to know or care how hard the work actually is.

I DON'T!!!!!! I have been employed at Pizza Hut for over 3 yrs. I enjoy my job and most of the customers. I have the ability to make your dining experience, with us, as enjoyable as I can. I have worked in the food service business for 30 yrs. I enjoy my job and treat my customers as if they are the president of the company. If people don't like the way they are treated when the sit in my section, they have the option to talk to the manager or call the corporate office and complain or compliment. The way I know they have had a good or bad experience is by the amount of TIP that they leave me. Most people do not realize that they have the option of requesting a server...... at least they do at the HUT I work at. I will be the first to admit that I am not the best server in the world but that doesn't mean that I am the worse one either.
As far as ridicule........if it is meant in fun.....go with it!

That's new to me. I never knew Pizza Hut employees get clowned by others. Where I'm from, Pizza Hut workers get paid good money, $10-$12 an hour, and that's starting off.
