Water

Not really, but if you drink a glass of water, every time you want to eat something, then wait ten minutes to eat that something, the odds are you won't want to eat.

If you are on weight loss diet, drinking lots of water can both help alleviate the hunger pangs that can happen, and accelerate the weight loss. [The theory is that the higher the percentage of your body is fluid, the faster/easier it is for waste products to be expelled. This, in turn, decreases one's mass. In adults, full hydration occurs at one ounce of water intake per two pounds of body weight, per day. More than that simply makes it easier for the body to flush waste out.]

Okay, I am not sure which ones curb your appetite, but I do know which ones keep you hungry! The ones that contain MSG and High Fructose Corn Syrup. It's a fact. These ingredients dull your hunger receptors, so you always feel hungry. I quit these ingredients and immediately lost weight. Now I am happy with my weight, but I will never go back to these fat making processed foods. I included a link for you to read, it's really interesting.

PS. Hunger is just your body's way of asking for nutrients. It's okay to eat, just keep it healthy. Since I have been off MSG & Corn syrup, my appetite shrunk considerably!

The only trick I know is to eat something that you absolutely hate. For instance, if you are hungry, make yourself a portion of liver and onions. Or whatever it is you find repulsive. If you go ahead and make the item you don't like, the smell alone may curb your appetite. If not, one small bite will probably do it. Keep the food in your fridge and everytime you feel hungry force yourself to eat a bite...cold from the fridge!

I would say none. The best way to curb your appetite is self control. Instead of eating 3 full meals a day, try to eat 5 to 6 small meals of about the size of your fist spread out throughout the day. In that way, you would not feel the urge to eat unnecessarily. If all else fails, always have a picture of a malnourished African child pin up on your fridge door to remind you that there are so many people who do not have enough to eat. Well I have a picture of a malnourished child and her mum on my fridge door and it makes me more conscious about not eating excessively.

Carbohydrates make you feel full and thus reduce you appetite, BUT too many of them will make you fat. Carbs all convert to sugar in your system. However, all carbs are not created equal. Simple carbs (like refined sugars, white bread, etc.) convert very rapidly and cause insulin spikes. Complex carbs convert slowly and do not cause high spikes but rather a more even keel. Google "glycemic index" and you will find books and info about which foods are which. Also search for "super foods" and you will find some more good info.

You want to lose weight? Eat one raw grapfruit each day. A study showed that this helped people lose weight. Also:

1. cut back on starchy carbs, especially at dinner (potatos, bread, pasta)
2. eat plenty of fibrous vegies (brocolli, spinach, aspargus)
3. drinnk pleny of water between meals
4. eat a big breakfast, eat a small supper
5. lift weights (muscle burns calories)
6. do some cardio, even brisk walking is fine
7. cut out most junk food
8. have one cheat meal per week (say Sunday night)
9. take the supplement CLA
10. eat a lot of high protien-lowcarb-lowfat food. Good choices are skinless chicken breast, tuna, cottage cheese.

There you have it.

well it doesn't curb your appetite, but it helps you feel fuller for long periods of time, and prevents you from over-eating. eat foods high in fiber and lean protein, they'll fill you up.

Beans are an excellent source of fiber, cheap, and very, very filling. I used to eat bean soup every day for lunch and it was very satisfying. Give it a try.

Chick peas and rice - it's good, too!
