I'd rather be in heaven when I die than in nothingness...atheism is stupid and makes life boring...nothing to live for

I believe not because of God's wrath, but because of His love. I've got nothing to loose. If there is no Heaven or hell, (which I believe there is) living a good life as a Christian can still make others lives better as well as your own. If in fact there IS an afterlife, then I want to make sure I spend my eternity in the right place. Everyone that says there is no God will be in for a very rude awakening at the end of their lives.

I do not fear God's wrath because as a Christian I will never face that wrath. Besides, there is a peace you can only know by accepting him into your heart. I was raised in a christian home all my life but I wanted to know what other religions were like. So I sought out books on Buddhism,Wicca, all kinds of religions. I strayed for a long time but recently I dedicated my life to him. We as christians are not infallible (I think some believe they are). His love has no boundaries-no matter what we do. I believe too many people look at him as this impersonal, angry God. Wow, if we only knew how much he cares for us. He wants us to be with him and turn to him-He wants a close personal relationship you, me and everyone else out there. To me that is as awesome as it gets.

Fear of God's wrath is often used to motivate people to convert to Christianity.

Look at the rest of the story.
God, qua Jesus, came to earth to say "Follow Me".
* The family that raised him was in the lowest social strata. Peasant, or possibly "landless peasant".
* The people he picked for his disciples were mainly from the lower classes. Matthew would have alienated people, purely on the basis of his profession.
* His teachings were not designed to win power and influence amongst either the wealthy, or the rulers.
* When he was on trial, he did not raise a bunch of excuses for his behaviour. [Indeed, he hardly addressed the charges at all.]
* When crucified, he accepted it, albeit with great sorrow.
* He did everything he demanded of his followers;
* He lived according to his teachings.

In only two of the "revealed religions", did God make an appearance to a multitude of people, to serve as a witness. Christianity is one. Judaism is the other.

I no longer fear His wrath because I have given my life to Him through salvation. I enjoy the privilege of experiencing a relationship of love with Him, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

What I have obtained is more than an empty, unverified belief in God, but rather a personal knowledge of Jesus that continues to grow as I draw closer to Him and learn more about Him. It's an interactive relationship, and it's positively alive!

My belief in God has nothing to do with God's wrath. I was brought up in a church organization that doesn't even teach about hell.

I believe that there are things like wrong and right, and those things have to come from some source. Therefore, I call that source God.

First of all I believe in God because of what he's done in my life and what he's done in the lives of my family and friends.
Secondly, he's preparing a mansion for me in a city where the gates are solid pearl and the streets are made of gold.
Thirdly, it's my perogative to believe in what I want and if I believe in God, who are you to ask? Unless you're really interested but it sounds like another cut to Christians.
Oh, here's another reason:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever belives in Him should not perish but have everlasting life..." John 3:16

No other god in the history of religion has ever sacrificed himself or his son for the sake of mankind. That's enough for me.
