Here's the deal. I am a new mom to an 9 day old little girl. We have only one car, the 95 mustang. It's fully paid for(2,000). My brother has a 98 breeze that he has been paying on. He still owe's 1826.00 He says he will make the payments if we trade him our car for his. We are depending on my mother right now to take us to her doctors appointments because her car seat will not fit in our car. The mustang has been my dream car since I was 5 years old. I finally have it and really don't want to trade it off because I Know i will never get it back. He's wanted my car since before I even got it. I'm so confused. Would it be a good idea?

You have to do what is best for your child. A mustang isn't child-friendly.

If you could afford it, try to get a family car, like your brothers, if you can make the payments and keep both cars.

Otherwise, you should trade. You need to be able to support yourself and drive your own baby to the doctor. Don't be selfish. Put her first.

It seems as though no matter what, you need a new car. With kids come many sacrifices, the dream car is definitely on that list. Sorry.

As for what you should do, that seems complicated. You could qualify for the big sister of the year award if you do trade with your bro. And, at least it would still be in the family and you could ride/drive it now and then.

Is it the best financial way to go? How's about trading the car in and signing up for payments on a car of your choice? Lots of 0% deals out there. With the mustang, probably no down payment.

Your mustang is paid for...you need a bigger car, and the breeze is crap. sell your mustang (to someone unrelated) and buy a different car (like someone said before a honda or toyota would be a good car for you) Dependable for your family, and enough room. Don't do business like that with family. Too many feelings get hurt, and bridges get burned.. Can you imagine if something went wrong with the Mustang and he came after you, or if he stopped making payments on the breeze because he didn't like something about the mustang and they came and took your car? Best wishes - it's hard sometimes

do you really have to get rid of it,,,,,surely there is some kind of way that you can keep it,,and still find a small car or something that will help out with the family situation,,i know what you mean about dream cars,,i had mine,,and got rid of it,,and it was like loosing a member of the family,,i really miss it,,and you will too,,the trade you have been offered,,is not a very good one,,because your mustang is worth much more money,,if you have any kind of credit,at all you can purchase another car to help with situation your in,,and it don't have to be a real new one,,as long as it is good condition,,this way you could still keep your mustang,if i was you would sit down and think of every possible way around this,,before i made any kind of decision on It,,I'm sure there is an answer,,and you,ll find it,,after all,,you got your dream car,,and got it payed for,,you sound like an intelligent person,,so think on it,,i think you will work it out,,i hope this helps a little.

I have a '96 mustang. When my daughter was an infant, I had the reverse facing car seat on the passenger side in the back seat. There is plenty of room with the passenger seat slid partially forward. My daughter is 5 now and loves the Mustang!!! Don't take on any extra payments at this point. Save the $$$$ for the unexpected!!

First off, Congrats on the baby. =)

Secondly, NEVER do any business transaction with a family member. Nothing good can ever come of it. What if he fails to make the payments and the car gets repo'ed? You're screwed. What if he totals the Mustang? You're screwed again.

My advice - as heartbreaking as it could be, take the Mustang to a car dealer and trade it in for a sedan for now. Or sell it yourself. You have the safety of your baby girl to think about now, and you can always get another Mustang when she's older and call it your "midlife crisis" car.

Good luck!!

If the car seat doesn't fit then you gotta let it go. I went throught a similar problem a few years ago. I always wanted a Jeep Wrangler. I finally got one and a year later I had my baby. The Jeep was horrible to get the baby in and out of and we owed a fortune on it so it had to go. Three years later and I own a Jeep again, paid for, and my son, now 3 love sit. So, the moral is, let the mustang go for now, get the family car, and get the mustang again in a few years.

no!! do not trade your car!!! you will regret it for the rest of your life!! trust me!!! i know!!!!!
you need to find some cheap little older model 4 door, and get it, and keep you mustang!!!!
i'm sure you could find one for 1800 or posibly less. so i would try to save up a little to do that. i know that that is easier said than done, but you know that you do not want to get rid of your mustang. sure, you have to make sacrafices for your family, but don't do that.
and what is a "breeze"???? i don't know!!!!!
try to find a cavelier or something like that!!!
good luck. and if worst comes to worst, ask your parents for help!!!
if they won't help you though, and you do end up having to trade the mustang, don't trade it for a piece of crap car. and if at all possible, don't trade it to family.

you could get your parents to temporarily buy it from yo(if they can), and use the money to get another car, and then just pay your parents back for the mustang as you are able. then you would be able to keep your car, and get another too!!!!

and, yes, it is possible to fit a seat in a 95 mustang. i've done it before. you just have to get it in there just right, and you have to scoot the front seat forward a little.
which would you prefer; sacrificing a little leg room, and keeping your mustang, or; trading your mustang for a piece of crap that won't have any leg room in it iether???

good luck!!!!!

oh, and congratulations on the new baby!!!!

woah....first of all move the passenger seat forward and but the base behind it...I fit a baby carrier in a 2003 mustang..you can too...DO NOT TRADE a mustang for a Breeze..bad decision!...pay off the mustang and buy a trade it towards a nicer sedan..not a Plymouth! Hell I have two little ones and fit them both in an 85 Monte Carlo!

I know how hard it is to let go of your favorite car. But you have to think of the cumfort of your baby and you. You are going to have to make a lot of trips to the doctor and you need to have something that is going to get you from point a to point b without asking someone to lend them their car. Another thing is that the car is paid for and if you trade it in for your brothers, thats going to be another bill your gonna have to pay monthly on top of the costs your going to have to make for your baby. So the best advise I can give you is to trade your car in for another car that is paid for. And if you cant let go of your car, think about a bigger, more spacious car that you like. Maybe that would help.
