It really depends on their mission president. With my mission, I could only e-mail my immediate family, but my family was allowed to forward those e-mails on to my friends, so it all worked out just fine

Missionaries are allowed to email, I've been in the public Library when missionaries came in on their P-Day and emailed their families, there is a special email provider for them.

Yes, LDS (aka Mormon) missionaries can use email to communicate with friends and family. There is no requirement that they keep their location secret - I'm not sure where that poster got that idea from...

You know, I'm not sure. I know they used to in some foriegn countries. But after a while, my friend who was serving a mission could only email family. Everyone else had to write letters. You can call the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Utah and find out!

Why on earth would you need to keep your location secret to be a missionary?

Yes. they can. several missionaries email their friends and family.

most of them, no, because, they are not suppoised to tell anyone where they are. I am a missionary in training, kinda, that is what i am going to be a foreign missionary.
