This theory was proposed by Farid Ghadry, the president of the Reform Party of Syria. Considering the source, I would discard it. The Syrians want to bully us into stopping our support of Israel. What better way than to "leak" a conspiracy theory to Americans.

Ludd: You did not carefully read what I wrote (you may not have read it at all, judging by your response). Tsk tsk! I did not at all espouse the theory discussed within the article. I merely provided a link to it, since as far as I know, this was the first paper to report this "story."

there are several reasons that the Iranians cannot set off a nuclear weapon anytime within the next 5-10 years.

1. They do not have the capability to enrich uranium above 5-10% yet. It requires an enrichment of 90-97% to create a nuclear weapon.
2. They do not have the capability to make the man made element of plutonium. Plutonium is a byproduct of a nuclear reaction in the presence of depleted uranium. They can't get depleted uranium without a good enrichment process. (see reason #1 above)

As I said, they are years away from being able to accomplish creating a nuclear weapon. Don't get your panties in a bind.

So if they do it may just be apart of prophecy of the end times. I am not sure that we have to worrry about it. I know I look forward to the return of our Lord and Saviour. They may also be threatening to try scare the US or other countries into different actions whos knows I guess we will have to wait and see it is only 19 days away.

If this is true then I cannot believe how much more stupid they've become. If they think that they have anything that can outdo our own they have another thing coming.

I wouldn't worry about the US. I think that will be a conventional type warfare when they attack us. I hope those gun control people are ready for that!
