I think there are humps all along the way...
I've been married 7 and a half years to a great guy, and I have to admit, this 7th year has been wierd so far. Not bad, just wierd - we are learning more about each other than ever, and coming to terms with things we didn't even recognize as issues before. So maybe there is something to the 7 year hump theory. Maybe that's how long it takes to really get to know someone, and learn to love them for more than just the thrill they give you.

I almost exited this question before I realized: Me and my boyfriend broke up after 7 months!
Very interesting.
It kinda was a hump to get over because two years later we got back together. We got over the 7 month hump though, our anniversary is in a week. I'll have to keep my eye out for the next hump.
If your seventh month is approaching, don't stress out about it. These sayings are developed because of their common place in society, but they were also quite common a long, long time ago, when there were like, 500 people in society. There are a lot more now, and you have so much more power to make your own fate work out. Good luck!

they don't neccessarily break up or divorce when this happens...it's just more of a "rut" - things just get too comfortable, or little problems have built up over time, or it gets boring...whatever...but yes, it does happen...it's more or less time for a reality check, and time to put things into perspective....it's not neccessarily at 7 years...it could be 5 or 8 years....7 is just kind of an average number.

Uh... if you mean that it's impossible to get to your 8th year of marriage, that's total BS. I think it has to do more with the growing or reduced chemistry between two people than time.

boring sex is what causes this problem after 7years, couples should start swinging. its very erotic and will spice up their own sex lives.
