Can you tell me what a typical charge would be to travel with in France by train, lets say from Strasbourg to points north? What is the cost of the equivalence of a gallon of Gasoline in France now?

gas is extremely expensive in European countries, especially because the Euro is higher than the dollar. If I were you, I would gat a Eurail pass and if you wanted to go beyuond Strasbourg, all you would need to do is show the pass, and you would be able to go anywhere else in France, and most elsewhere in all of Europe.

I've never travelled in France, but in my limited understanding of European fuel prices I would say gasoline is probably prohibitively costly.

I would also venture that travel by rail would be more relaxing and enjoyable than a cramped bus.
