We live in a small town and I have had a lot of back trouble and have been taking pain meds for some time and I have just started physio. I had an appointment to day to see my doctor and it was cancelled for this reason. They wont even tell me who is bashing my name and I am in pain. What can I do and how do I approch my doctor and prove that this is not happening.
He has been my doctor for 7 years and finding a new doctor in this town is not possible.
Please help.

Why would anyone call your doctor and tell him that you were selling pills? What's the motivation?

When you figure out the answer to those questions, you should have a pretty good idea of who is 'bashing your name'.

Then, you can talk to your doctor. If you can identify the culprits and explain the motivation to your doctor, you can probably re-establish your prior relationship.

If these people are libeling you, get an attorney and sue them. Your attorney can depose your doctor. You will then find out exactly who said what about you.

They're not telling you the people that were bashing your name to prevent retaliatory action. You may be able to go to your local police department or hire an attorney to have the information requested / subpoenaed and file charges for slander, but it may be more hassle than it's worth, and you better be damn sure you can prove that you weren't selling your pills. You need to think about who has seen your pill bottles and do some logical deduction. Who have you pissed off lately that knows what doctor you see?

Well, I find it hard to believe that someone would call your doctor and tell him this unless they truly believe it is true. Unless you have one hell of an enemy who is cold and calculating in nature. If you have an enemy like this, than that is probably your culprit.

My guess would be that whoever called your doctor truly believed this is the truth, and since you say 2 people called him, my guess is that you really did sell some pills.

I would venture to say that you probably don't really need this medication but are addicted too it now. If you truly needed it, you wouldn not have given anyone any reason to call your Dr.

I would suggest calling and asking your Dr. for help breaking your addiction.

the human conscience is the best weapon to hit back and it will hit them back find help from another doctor then later when your doctor is ready to listen talk to him meanwhile dont go looking for those losers, they will come looking for you by themselves
