I was swimming pretty far from shore in Pensacola, FL and a wild dolphin came up to me and started nudging at my hands and feet. It was a very special interaction and left me changed for the better. Anyone else ever have an experience like this?

Yes. Here in Panama City Beach we have some very playful dolphins. I look forward to each visit. They greet us and invite us to join them. Amazing!

We were deep sea fishing once about 20 miles out from Destin. I got sea sick and really hot feeling. I had to jump in the water to cool off. There were dolphins around and it was awesome. They didn't touch me but they were curious as to why I was in the water. Some of the people I was with were trying to scare me by saying they were sharks. I'm a Pensacola native, and I've seen dolphins all my life and knew better. They are beautiful and amazing creatures.

We camped along the ocean in Ventura County at Rincon Parkway and swam with schools of dolphins all the time. We never got close enough to actually touch one but were within 10 feet of them. They were just beyond the surf break. They would jump out of the water just like Flipper.

I have not in the Gulf, however, when in the Navy, we had a swim stop....while on ship, and I did get to swim with about 20 Dolfins, jsut about 5 miles off of Guam....well, it wasn't jsut me, there were many others in the water also.....but yes, there were many swimming with us, and I like to think enjoying our company as much as most of us were enjoying their company
