I don't mean that Jesus didn't live 20 centuries ago, but I just wish to know the scientific proofs found about his life.

Please tell me what you refer to in your reply. Thx! :-)

"History" is not a science.

Nothing scientifically proves it. But there's nothing to prove, scientifically, that the Alexandria's great library actually existed. There's plenty of speculation, but no definitive proof of a lot of history. The evidence of ancient history, unless there's a ruin built to prove it, has long since gone with time.

Can you scientifically prove that anyone in particular lived 2000 years ago? No, but there are historical documents and accounts that show specific people lived at a particular time. 1st Century historians (non-christians, like Josephus) mention Jesus , the Gospels written in the first century chronicle the latter part of his life. If you want a lot of details you can read the Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, where he conducted some pretty in depth research.

Of course there is no proof, but there is suggestive, if fragmentary, evidence. First of all, there are the texts of the gospels. The earliest of these, Mark, dates to the mid-first century AD. To my mind, it is sufficiently sober that one may take its broad outlines as an historical account -- at least as regards the broad facts of Jesus' life (he was a charismatic preacher executed by the Romans). Jesus is also mentioned in a few ancient sources, such as Josephus. One wouldn't expect an insignificant religious figure from a backwater of the empire to receive much notice in contemporary pagan historical accounts.

On the whole, it's really not a stretch to say that Jesus existed, that he was a Jew who preached things which upset both the religious establishment and the occupying Roman regime, and that he was executed on charges of sedition or blasphemy. All this is a far cry from substantiating Christian theological claims about Jesus, of course.

Actually, it's more based historically. We know from archeology that Pilate and Herod ruled over Israel at this time. We also know from history about the ruler that ordered all the children under the age of two to be killed during this time. This information comes from historical documents, it simply lines up with Biblical text. However, recent archeology shows that Jesus was born around 4 BC. So, it's not perfect. But for the time when the new calendar was created, they were very close.

Ok I've edited my comments because i want to say.

THIS IS A GREAT QUESTION.

A DON"T PEOPLE KNOW THAT ARCHEOLOGY IS A SCIENCE!!!

I haven't had a chance to do a lot of research on this.

But when I do I'm going to read the book Case For Christ by Lee Strobel, he is an investigative journalist who used the same practices he uses when researching a story to see if there was legitimate evidence that Christ lived and was the son of God.

I've heard from many people it's a great book, but I have not read it yet.

There have been numerous eye witnesses. Read the new Testament

What kind of scientific proof you are searching? Many false relics have been exposed as fraud.

Christians do not need any proof. The just shall live by Faith.

If you believe in George Washington, Julius Caesar, John Smith, Alexander the Great, and so on-then you can believe that Jesus was real. All these I have mentions are believed to have existed from historical documents. There is more secular historical documentation on Jesus that any other subject ever written about.

Correlating the events in the Bible with history books. Jesus spoke of the temple being destroyed. I believe this was around AD 70. From this we know Jesus was on earth before this.

The roman historian Josephus made note of Jesus being in Palestine and of his followers. He lived around the same time and was not a christian, so probably was impartial. Pilate also sent letters to the emperor about Jesus and his death, wanting, of all things to submit his name to be one of the roman Gods as he was so impressed with him. There are probably more.
