You have a few choices:

1: Use a network file share. Connect the two computers through a LAN and the turn on Windows File Sharing (right click on a folder and choose sharing, enable it as well as for anything below that level) and then turn on the file sharing for the Mac (System Preferences ---> Sharing ---> (checkbox) Personal File Sharing, Windows Sharing

2: Use an external harddrive to transfer it. This means manually copying over all the songs onto the harddrive from the windows unit, and then copying them onto your Mac.

3: There are several more ways to go about it--you can do everything from burning media CDs or DVDs to the Drag and Drop method of file transfer. Hell, you can even install AIM on both computers and use that to transfer the files as you would with a friend.

Good Luck! And feel free to ask me to clarify anything

When you get the powerbook, just network them and copy the files over. Networking on the MAC is VERY easy. When you network them, just open system preferences on the MAC, select sharing and then just turn on windows sharing and your windows machine will see your whole MAC drive and you can just copy and paste.
