If you're flying from England BMI are startinga route from Heathrow - Moscow in October for £199 return. Alternatively you could get a cheap flight to Lithuania or Estonia with Ryanair and get an overnight bus to Moscow or St Petersburg for around £10 (Eurolines.com).
