My family used to eat extremely healthy and have an overall healthy lifestyle. Until my dad decided to go crazy to turn our kitchen into junk food central! There's poptarts, pastries, pi, cookies, potato chips, icecream, etc. I'm trying to eat healthy, but whenever I try its sooo hard. I've been eating good for about a week, until my dad brings home Taco Bell! I've tried talking to my parents. My mom understands and want s to start eating better aswell. I tried talking to my dad, and he says that he understands but he really doesn't because he keeps bringing home things like Taco Bell and crap! What can I do?

I would start by asking your folks why they stopped eating healthy. There's clearly something up with your dad and maybe if you find that answer, you can fix it for all of you.

All that junk WILL create a host of health problems very quickly for them. One out of three adults is going to become a diabetic and all that processed crud and sugar is the reason this has become such a huge problem.

My parents are diabetic; it is a horrible existence and one your father will not enjoy. My dad has gone blind and is in constant pain in his back, hips and feet. He has to take 2 different kinds of insulin so twice a day, he gets 2 shots in the belly.

So, talk to your dad again (sugar is addicted..if you explain that maybe he'll see that he has a problem too), and maybe if you and your mom stick together, you can put a ban on such crud in place, or at least limit it (like once a week). What he does out of the house no one can control but your mom should have the power to ban it from the house.

Then you can throw it out when he brings it in.

In the meantime, you just have to resist. It IS hard, but try looking at it and saying "which is more important to me - thin thighs and a healthy body or this twinkie?"

Life is full of temptations and always will be. YOU have to find the strength to beat them.

Well what you need to do is have a nice thorough talk with your parents, and really say what needs to be said. It's awesome that you are eating healthy, however I know it's hard to be surrounded by junk food if you still have the cravings. Try seeing if the method of talking works, and maybe start your Dad on the healthy life style you had previously. Throw away all the junk food, and start completely fresh. That's what I did with my pantry and all of the sudden if felt like I was reborn again. Just keep the necessaries, and see how everything works out.

If your young, don't get too into thinking about what you eat. It could lead to an eating disorder. Eating fast food once a week or maybe a little more is still healthy.

Buy good food for yourself and try to eat before you dad comes home so when he comes in the door with crap to eat you will have already eaten and won't be hungry.
