Apart from Old Sid, this idea found favour in the pub last night. In future the world's fighting forces can only be made up of people over seventy.

huh.. it sounds like you had a few too many drinks last night..

What about praying to god instead of going out and drinking and joking around.

There will come the day you die having to face god with the good and bad deeds you've done..

It takes a lot to devote yourself to the on and only..

Drinking doesn't help.

No need to damage god creation as that is a major sin.. you can still joke while being close to god.

You are in time and everyone has his time and then it's over, ever thought there was an after life, and if there is what good deeds do you have to face god with.. you want to hope you've done more good than bad.

Hope I haven't offended you,

Simply wishing you the best of luck,

Garry from Australia

Yeah... why not. It'll give them some exercises, get them out of the house and what have you. They won't do too much damage to each other because it would take them forever to get to grips with all the new technology. It'd be interesting looking at the war-zone littered with bodies - not dead, just dozing.
The battles would have to stop at about 5.30pm so everyone could have tea and "get settled" for the evening.

It's an extraordinarily fantastic idea.

nah lower over 60 that way there will be more pensions for the young ones.

and any one seeking asylum in britain should be conscripted into the army as well to prove their loyalty and anyone on benefits for more than 8 weeks to. Oh yeah and all the members of the royal family and parliament.

No, people over 70 have paid their dues. I suggest we just let the world leaders fight each other in an arena. The rest of us just get to stay home and watch. Cheers!

that's great. if you like watching a battle in slow motion....or troops using walkers and canes as part of their arsenal. of course IV poles would make a very useful weapon.

i wonder what the MRI's would be...cream corn and purée meats perhaps?
and does poly-dent, ben gay and hard candy come as part of their mobility equipment?
can you imagine the budget for health expenses??

mmmm, nahhh ill stick with the younger cheaper crowd!

nice idea....
an alternative is to make sure that the armed forces actually in a combat zone are sole comprised of the children of Polticians (especailly those in power making the decision to go to war)

that should curb their enthusiams for war

It's irrelevant since the people who are the biggest problem for the military are those who don't play by the rules of warfare.
