Traditional answers to this question are an indicator of optimism / pessimism. I am looking for more light hearted answers. The more important question is to determine the liquidity of the contents of the glass and what it's future value will when accounting for the rate of evaporation. (accountant)

That depends on where you are - - - I mean are you already under water, in a cave, on the moon, on another planet, etc. etc. (specific density)
Or perhaps you could be a "braves" fan (the Atlanta stadium concessionairs never fill their cups full) or are you a "red sox" fan - who know about Boston???? (actual content)
An even more interesting question would have been: "Is the glass half empty or half full OF what?"
