God is the supreme being, the creator. Maybe God is the single greatest energy in the universe or a collection of all spiritual energy some call the "great spirit" Deep within you, you know you have a soul and a connection to a higher power

God is whatever you want him or her to be. The rabbi used to say that you can't picture or use human standards to gauge what God is. For example, is God male or female? That would be to assume a human attribute that may not be relevant at all to what God is.

For most God is the creator of all, and he sits up there like a giant puppeteer, offering salvation (meaning when you die your soul/personality goes someplace besides noplace) to those that follow whichever religion that person has decided must be "right."

For some God is a fictitious character that gets the credit for everything that happens that is good, and fails to get blamed for anything bad that happens. Yet he supposedly made us in his image and guides us, but again is not responsible for the independent thoughts we have or anything that happens that isn't good.

My favorite example of this lunacy:
The Jews and Judas get blamed for Jesus' death, yet it was prophecized that Jesus would die and in this manner. God told Jesus this himself. So....wouldn't that mean that everything went exactly as God planned it to be?

If Jesus' death was "for our sins," and God's plan required his death so people would stand up and take notice (God has done many horrible things to get man's attention - think parting the red sea, the great flood, Soddom and Gomorra, etc.), then the Jews did not kill Jesus, God killed his human form (for remember, Jesus' was the son of God and his mortal body died but HE was resurrected and lives on), so that people will learn.

Yeah, we're not supposed to blame God for the millions of people starving to death, or the children that get beaten, neglected or sexually abused. God didn't cause the tsunami or flood New Orleans (whoa..nearly forgot, some do claim God flooded New Orleans because of the homosexuals...who, incidentally are also God's children and creation). God doesn't get the blame for any of that, Satan does, though God created Satan too. hmmmmm...

Yeah...pretty darn amazing how many people give such power to an, at best, invisible and unproven entity, or at worst, a completely fictious one.

'WHAT' is a very good question, and the likely hood is the full answer is incomprehensible by our limited minds...and it makes a good contemplation into the wonders of God

But basically, God is Spirit, as Christ telling the samaritan woman "God is Spirit and one must worship Him in Spirit". (sorry, I am assuming this question from a Christian perspective).
If he is Spirit, then He has all the attributes of a spirit, but only on an eternal and perfect scale. as you already know, he is eternal and everywhere. He is also a Personal Living Spirit, that is why we are able to personalise Him and speak to Him and He speaks back to us.

I hope this helps, e-mail me if you need any further clarification...God bless you.

Have you ever felt down and out but somehow you felt like "this is nothing I can handle it"? That feeling is GOD walking and leading you. You can feel HIS energy, and GOD is just that, GOD!! There's no way you can describe what GOD is because there's only one GOD. HE's a god, THE GOD.

God may be dark energy and dark matter as described by physics. Research is being conducted right now to discover what god is, scientifically speaking. Honestly, I'm not sure humans will ever fully know.

God is the creator of all things. The Alpha and the Omega. The first and the last. The beginning and the end. The father of us all, even animals ...He existed before anything else did. He has always been. And I love him and appreciate everything about him and his SON Jesus Christ, my personal Saviour.

God is a handsome old Jew with a long white beard who needs a haircut and likes rolling around heaven in a white sheet. Bless Him!
