Cruising is the best because once you are on ship all of your meals and entertainment is there. If you want to go see things and tour, that's available. Your cabin is like your hotel room, only they will make up your room twice a day instead of once.
However, I would prefer to fly to Hawaii and do my own touring rather than be confined to a ship's schedule.

My aunt went on a cruise to Hawaii and she said it was horrible. The waters between California and Hawaii were supposedly very rough. She wouldn't recommend it...you can always fly to Hawaii and then cruise around the islands...

It all depends on how much $$$$$ you have to spend. Cruises are great because everythings included - except your drinks (very expensive on cruise ships). Also, how old are you? Many cruises have older people on them - unless it's for a younger crowd. Have your travel agent check into the "type" (age) of cruise.

for hawaii, its better to fly and go because on the cruise, they go to their schedule and not yours. if you like one place better and want to stay longer, you cant. thats why you should not go on a cruise to hawaii. if you are going anywhere else, then go on a cruise. if you want to go to hawaii, dont go on a cruise. take this from experiance.

I would fly. On a cruise ship it seems there would be a time schedule you would have to stick to. If you fly you can set your own schedule to do all you want to do.
