From a christian perspective, I can tell you that I cannot wait for it...not in a suicidal nor pesamistic way neither...but because death is not the end, but the pass-over to a new eternal begining.
and yes, I too do not want to rush it...because what we do here on earth, educates and prepares us to what is to come. If you like, this is like a practice run and preparation stage...so enjoy it, do the right thing and learn to live with Christ every step of the way, he will guide us towards what is to come.
I hope this helps...God bless.

Your question seems like a sincere one to me. I see these kinds of questions all the time and my answer is always the same: Death simply means the body dies. You as a Being will continue to exist...it's a never-ending cycle. You may not remember having been here before, but I do and I know it is a rare thing to remember your past lives, so this idea of having been here before and returning again is very unreal to most people. I think that I am a good person, but I have no reality regarding heaven or any fear of hell or even death because they don't exist in my experience.
Please continue to learn things and DO savor your time in this life! You never know, it may just help you for the next time around ;) There you go, another weird answer in the wild world of Yahoo Answers!

good question every one will have to go through it in some satge of there life. I personally dont like thinking about it. I never use to thing about it until a family member passed away then it really hits you and the thought of not seeing them again kills.
Thats amazing that you are looking foward to it, but because we only live once in (real flesh). I tend to think how greatful i am to be alive, espcially with the war right know youd hate to be dying in those circumanstances.

For Buddhists we are always reminded that nothing is permanent.( anisa)
We are also reminded of suffering in life.( dukkha)
And that we have no control of these.( Anatta)
I am not afraid of my own death since I will be gone to know anything.
I am afraid of the time of my death. how I will die , will I suffer before I die or is it going to be a voilent death or will I be scared before I die??
Because death can come in any way any time..
I want to know before I die so that I can concentrate on my body and I will not be struggling with emotions and suffering.
For us the way we leave our body is most important.
We do not want to be attached to the present body and life when we go. We can become a ghost and continue suffering if we cannot let go.
So every day we have to remind ourselves that nothing is permanent and we must be ready all the time to leave this life peacefully.

I agree with you....... I love things that I get to do while on earth. Play with my kids, laugh, eat ice cream, cuddle in front of the fire, play in the snow. But I SO look forward to going to Heaven and meeting Jesus. I'm not afraid to die, but I don't want the people I leave behind to be sad. And I have a lot to still do on earth... like learn more about Jesus and share the Word with others.

It is definately not something to be afraid of nor is it something that we can have complete control over. I believe that it is possible to die before you are supposed to in spite of the comical poster that says, "If God put me on earth to get a certain amount of thing accomplished, I am so far behind that I will NEVER die!"
I believe that everyone has a purpose and we have an obligation to serve our purpose.. or at least die trying.

The Bible specifically refers to the death as a sleep where you know nothing until resurrection day when Jesus returns - that is why there is a resurrection in the first place when Jesus returns to get his people. We should not fear death and I don't, I am just afraid of how I might die if I have to.

I think of death that when your number is up you leave all your family and friends behind so they can remember you by the goodtime thoughts. Death isn't some thing to worry about we all have to go one day as long as you had a good life before you die or live life to it's fullest means.

There it comes. There's no way to avoid it. Understandig this brings peace. What then, I don't know. There's no point thinking about it, because I won't know before it happens. I can of course fake myself to believe what books and priests say. The problem is that they don't know either. It's a mystery that is sooner or later revieled to you. That is the only thing you can count on.

When you die, you're dead.... the end... nothing. You cease to exist... there is no spiritual afterlife.... your body stops functioning and your brain waves stop working...
Thinking like that and not worrying that there may be a hell or heaven or whatever afterwards brings me comfort. I don't fear death, and just do what I can with my life in the time I have.
