I would never have my pet cloned. For one thing I just think it's wrong to tinker with nature like that. For another thing, it might be a copy of my pet, but it still wouldn't be the same. And as the other person said, there are already tons of unwanted animals out there just waiting for good homes.

I would not have my dog cloned. Just because the new dog would have the same genes would not make it and identical dog, it would have a completely different personality. According to one geneticist I read, a clone would probably even LOOK different from the original, because of differences in environment during gestation and development.

I don't have a dog, but I wouldn't have my cat cloned, either. My cats are each individuals and wonderful, but there are so many other cats (and dogs) out there that need good homes, that the best thing I could do to honor a lost pet is to adopt another.

because he was an original, i thought about it when he was alive but after he died i couldn't do it, so instead i had him tattooed on my hip. he was a lab greyhound cross, and smart. at 6 months old he opened the front door with out being trained to do so. and understood 3 languages, before he died at 10 years old. and dispite what is said about it he could see color and love to look at himself in the mirror, and get his picture taken.i know i sound like a nut about this but its all true. he was one of the smartest dogs i have ever known. so thats why.

If there were a few more doggies like mine they would rule the world and think I was the best thing since fire hydrants!
