Yes I tried it. It helped me becoming more conscious about one of the sources of my depresion which was actually something I could do something about.

But the easiest way to deal with depresion is by taking SSRI drugs. It doesn't work for all patients but I think you should give it a try. If it works, at least it will put you in a better shape for improving your life so that you are less likely to get depressed again once you stop taking the drugs.

I went through a period of severe depression many years ago and I tried a relaxation tape a little bit like paul McKenna. It worked very well!
I don't agree with drugs, not sure why, I think because my Mom became addicted to Prozac.
Something that has helped me is the book - Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway! - by Susan Jeffers. You might not think, by the title that it will help you with depression but believe me it will.

I wish you luck and love!

You may want to search Yahoo!Answers for this topic, as it is asked regularly, and has gotten some great answers.

It could be that the depression has its roots in low blood sugar - something that happens to everybody every day, but for some it can hang around. For basic information on hypoglycemia, check out www.hufa.org. For information on its precursor condition – hyperinsulinemia – check out www.mayoclinic.com then search for hyperinsulinemia.

My therapist is using EMDR with me and it's starting to work. Look up Francine Shapiro and EMDR and see if it's something you might be interested in. All the best to you.
