Religion has inspired more deaths than any other reason in this world. You won't find an Atheist strapping a bomb around their waist!
Also, for the previous post, Stalin did become an Atheist, but didn't kill in the name of religion. He killed in the name of communism. A very distinct difference. And it was more around one million rather than 17. The Soviet government even built churches for the people. Though, they did vehemently keep the government separate from the church.

I know, look at all the murders and wars they have committed in the name of atheism. 17 million dead under Stalin to establish an atheist rule in Russia. Millions more confined, exiled, tortured and executed to try and keep the atheist in power. How many millions more in China, North Korea, Cuba, Vietnam, and wherever else atheism has been allowed to take hold.
Thank God we still have Christians involved in the politics and government of this country protecting our lives and liberty.

Atheists killing each other in the name of their beliefs, eh? You mean like the Crusades? The Gaza Strip? The IRA? Or maybe you mean like 9/11...
Doesn't your precious Bible say something about casting stones?

an atheist by definition has no beliefs, therefore, if they they are killing eachother, the best way to stop them would be to help them find something to believe in perhaps?

its beliefs, not believes
i don't think anyone ever has been killed in the name of religion or atheism. its just people killing other people for the same reasons, over and over again : greed, vengeance, power, and self-righteousness.
communism didn't fight "for" atheism, they fought and killed for power. get it straight.

Uh, atheists don't believe in God, hence they have no beliefs (in religion, that is). I think you have them confused with some other group...
