He was not prophet himself though baptised a prophet-Jesus.This ratheranachronist event suggests the existence of Christianity even prior to the First Coming or else baptism was a pre-Christian ritual adoped by Christrians. There are many other similar instances and there is nothing wrong in it. Obviously the early Christians did not want to show that theirs wasan entirely different doctrine. The early Messengers who went out to propogate opened their sermons taking care to see that they use the same phrases and images as the others and slowly changed the rails People must never have thought that they were going on a different routs altogether.
