Isn't that one sided? What they are basically saying is that Israel should not allowed to defend itself. I don't think people realize that if Israel stopped defending itself, attacks on it would not stop. The Arabs want Israel gone and are not afraid to say it. Why are so many people so Naive?

Disruction of bridges and fuel stations? To prevent Hezbollah from getting more supplies.

Civillian casulties? Because Hezbollah are cowards and hide in housing projects.

Basically what some are saying is that as long as Hezbollah fights using humans as shields they should be able to fire rockets at Israel from a distance with impunity and that Israel should never retaliate

Let me guess. Those with this opinion are Muslim?.

it is because they feel Israel is the better nation and want to pull her down
Israel is using less than 5% of it's military capability. If Israel want to destroy Lebanon as people claim ,Israel could simple turn all capabilities on Lebanon and devastate the entire country.
And light blue is a terrorist sympathizer with the agenda of distraction.

You should read the following from the an interview of human rights watch:

http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/08/03/1344244
"Well, Human Rights Watch has no problem denouncing the kind of war crimes and abuses that Hezbollah is committing against Israel. We have said since the beginning that these are war crimes and that Hezbollah should stop these indiscriminate attacks against civilians. But at the same time, it's a very convenient excuse for Israel to say that civilians are being killed because Hezbollah is shielding behind them, and that's simply not the reality on the ground in many of the cases we have documented.

Time and time again, we have documented that civilians have been killed without any Hezbollah being in the neighborhood, without any Hezbollah being inside their homes, and without any Hezbollah weapons being stored, and also that civilians are being hit on the road time and time again, when they're traveling in cars which are clearly marked with white flags. On a daily, basis Israel is hitting ambulances, they're hitting humanitarian convoys, they're hitting UN bases multiple times a day. Sometimes 30 separate attacks on UN observer posts are being documented in a single day.

So, the problem is that Israel simply is not taking the kind of precautions they need to take. Yes, Hezbollah is a difficult enemy to fight. It's a guerrilla enemy. It's not an enemy with tanks and armored cars, which are easy to hit. But Israel has the obligation to take the precautions required under the laws of war. And I’ve been in Iraq and Afghanistan and Kosovo and Chechnya and many other places, and I have seen these distinctions being made by armies. And so, what we are seeing in Lebanon is very different from what we see in these other conflicts. "

You see both sides are ignoring human rights. Isreal is killing more than Hezbollah.

The U.N. has reported that more than 100 Palestinians have been killed during these 19 days

jews don`t jump saying hizballah was hiding in 300 houses stupidity. you keep saying hizballah this hizballah that.

your problem is with hizballah then why you are killing so many lebanese people unarmed citizens innocent childrens ?
and why are you exploding bridges and fuel stations since day 1 ?
what is the bridges and fuel stations got to do with hizballah ?
to defend does not mean to destroy a country Understructure

israel is killing childrens in cool blood

Hezbollah is defending itself. Besides I don't see on TV Hezbollah driving in Israel with tanks, shooting civilians. Are you stupid or what? Just look out from your box. Try see how people from the whole world see that occupation of Israel.

P.S. I'm not a Muslim. I'm an atheist, born as Christian, living in Europe. And don't be so sure that only Muslim are against Jewish.

First of all I am not Muslim. I was born a Christian (but not born-again or evangelical or any of that). Your "let me guess....you are Muslim" statement is ignorant, rude, ill-informed, un-educated and very very inflammatory. Let me guess...you voted Bush? Ha ha. Anyway to the main question. The Palestinians need a home-land. They haven't got one. Yeah? Can you understand that? Let me say it again ..."The Palestinians need a home-land. They haven't got one." They had one before the Brits 'created' Israel in 1948. This is the core issue. Israel won't give them one and the UN seem scared to force the issue. The Israeli's of course need to defend themselves. But why not send in special forces backed up by Mossad intelligence to do it? They are well capable of that. Hezbollah shouldn't be hiding in civilian areas true. That is evil and wrong. But there is an agenda here. Islamic fundamentalism backed up by Iranian's leaders comments is being fought. Not the kidnapping of 2 soldiers and America is VERY happy to let them do it. Forget the Lebanese civilan dead. That is the agenda.

I think this depends on who you are listening to. Bill O'Rilley says the same thing that your saying on his television and talk radio show. There are others that are very pro Israel and anti Hezbollah but they don't make the news. The fact that Hezbollah is a terrorist group seems to have been dropped from the equation.

erm... can i jsut interupt you rant and point out that hizbollah have only killed about 55 israelis of which about 5 are civilians. how does that compare with say 600 civilians in lebanon, of which 1/3 are children.
to say that these people are being used as shields is just convenient in the war of words. my guess, it is more likely that the planes have heat seeking cameras and spot densities of heat.. assume that it is the terrorists and just fire indesciminately, because they just don't care. they are getting desperate for a victory in a war they should not have started in the first place. israel has revealed it's hand, they are going to have a hard time backing out of this one. pitty they think, killing kids is a way to do it.

People are always one sided when it comes to things like this. They can't be open-minded and consider that both sides are suffering, and both sides are wrong. Just like Bush supporters will never admit that anything he does is wrong, despite the fact that it's glaringly obvious. And those opposed to Bush will never admit to anything he's done right. It's like this with everything, nobody wants to see the other side's point of view, people are stubborn and bigoted and don't like to admit they are wrong about anything. People who are against Israel think they deserve to be bombed and murdered and don't lose any sleep over the fact that some of the victims are innocent children. It goes the other way too, Israel has killed lots of innocents. That's why there is never any resolution to any of this, nobody is willing to give an inch.

first of all it is not retaliation , it is Israeli aggression ...i do not fathom , what kind of logic you are basing you argument on .......... do you think that hazeb ala hiding among civilians and using civilians as Shields

what do you say about those who use this tactic of killing and murdering civilians to gain a military and a political victory .. Israel has alswyas been like that ....... beat up the civilians, kill the civilians to gain ground ...... my god , i can not believe how Israeli media is so successful in twisting the truth ... it has always been the case with Israel , if Israel can not a war "on military bases " they bombard civilians so as to look good in front of their ppl or to force the other party to succumb to it's wishes .
what a travesty and what is worse , is the fact that you believe it ... olmart yesterday , went on a tv station claiming victory over the resistance and few min.s later Haifa was bombarded.....

And as for calling hazeb ala a terrorist group , this is a fallacy , hazeb ala is Resistances group , that has so many activities on both the humanitarian and political level in Lebanon ... even kofy anan admitted that

Most that say that are either Arab and want Israel gone, or are so busy hating anything American or that Bush does that they are willing to sacrifice Israel if they think it will hurt America or a republican. Amazing, that the Peace party is willing to let a nation of people die to achieve their own end

To Redhotboxfan- I watch O'Rielly and I have never heard him denounce Israel
