If we continue to learn something right up to the day we depart this life, what is the purpose of that?

What would be the point of existing on this particular plane if you had nothing moreto learn here?

My fsther used to say
"Never go to bed without having learned something new!"
And I have found that it is a good maxim to live by!...
By learning something new everyday you expand your minds capacity...improve your own life, and possibly the lives of those around you by putting to good use some of the things you have learned!
Sometimes you just learn a bit of trivia, but even that is good, after all trivia is fun!

Where would you draw the line? I'm not going to make a conscious effort to stop learning at, say, 60. Learning new stuff is FUN!!!!

Perhaps what we experience here on earth helps us in the afterlife, (if you believe in God). If not, then I guess it really doesn't have much purpose.
