I agree with kbenji33. But I'd wonder about the intentions and the social aptitude of the "people" who would say such a thing at such an event. You obviously don't want to make a scene, so the best strategy is to deflect the comment by complimenting the bride and remarking how lovely they newlyweds look as a couple.

"Hot" is usually more in the mind of the beholder than in the appearance of the girl. And anyway, at a wedding the bride isn't supposed to be lusted after by any but the groom.

Maybe Muslims have the right idea of segregating wedding guests by gender...

It sounds as though you need to tone down your outfit! What were you wearing? You should not be trying to draw attention to yourself away from any bride. That is just plain RUDE. My bridesmaids are very very beautiful people, model types. I am nothing compared but on my wedding I was and I can't imagine someone saying anything different.

The Bottom Line is: Although I am sure you are attractive and that is why you are getting flattering comments, keep in mind that single guys are looking to hook up when they attend weddings. They are scoping out the single women and bridemaids at the reception looking to get some action. That is what it comes down to.

Stop being so smug about it for one - its obviously happened and in the past so why are you even asking the question?
Is it to further increase your overrated ego?
