Some people buy them because they have a family and an income that wouldn't support them if they bought all of the brand name foods. In most cases, it's the identical food item (even made and packaged by the same company) but put to a lower price point.
I buy the store brand of "Fruity O's" because I like them better than Froot Loops. "Real" Froot Loops are just coloured but the store brand ones are coloured with fruit juice and I find that they taste better. It's a matter of trial and error. Some of the store brands are poorer quality but if that's all you can afford, what can you do?
It's all a matter of choice. You can only spend your money once and personally, I would rather buy the cheaper store brands so that I can afford to have nicer clothes and do more things with/for my friends and family. Life would be a whole lot less fun if I bought all brand name groceries and then had to sit home because I didn't have any money left until the next pay.

My grandfather worked for a charcoal plant. He said that the name brand and the off-brand (cheap no-brand) bags were being filled with the same product!
In most cases, the cheap brand tastes just the same, why pay more just for the name? I am not that spoiled. Even if I was rich, I would buy the cheap brand.

It is mostly cheaper and the same stuff, a lot of times the same company makes both products.
it is very hard to tell the differnce between the too.

Ever heard of living on a budget? It is a lot easier to stretch a dollar buying generic and store brand items.

Most times they are made by the same manufacturers as the name brands, so just the same standard of quality, just a cheaper price.

Sometimes, on a tight budget, it makes more sense to go for the cheaper value products. It's mainly down to necessity.

Usually the quality is the same I mean why pay 2.39+ for a loaf of bread that you can buy for .99? Only sometimes though is the quality not too great. But you buy basically the same thing.

Cause they are cheaper and we save some money. And sometimes the store brands are way better than the more expensive brands.
