The worst crimes are committed in the name of religion.

What crimes? You have made NO point!

Are you referring to the crime of standing up and speaking out against having religion crammed down our throats?

Are you speaking of us being disgusted with TV evangelists who scam the public by getting little old ladies to part with their pension money so that they can supposedly get a huge miracle and help pay for the minister's new Mercedez-Benz?

Maybe you mean the crime of people who prefer to have PROOF that certain things happened and that there is validity in religious statements. Or, should everybody invest their money in companies such as Enron, for example, and just believe what they are told?

If these are examples of the crimes to which you refer, then it is clearly obvious that the verdict will be: NOT GUILTY.

Get a life and stop acting so self-righteous. Think of that as another clue as to why people don't believe everything they are told.

What crimes do you speak of? If you mean, the killing of innocent civilians in market places due to religious differences, the bombings in mumbai based on religious differences, the world trade towers on the basis of religion, the israel/lebanon crisis on the basis of religion, the crusades and even those wack jobs in kansas with the god loves dead soldiers placards, than yes, convert the atheists to whatever religion is right. Please. All of the wars being fought are on the basis of religious differences, but car theft is only for atheists. But what happens to criminals in jail, oh wait, they find religion, whatevs. Religion is the root of all evil.

What crimes are you talking about? The prisons are full of believers, not atheists.

Substitute the word "jews" or "blacks" for atheists in your question and you'll understand how offensive your attitude is.

Are you saying all crimes are committed by atheists?
That is a very prejudice comment, take a look at the vicars, priests etc who are paedophiles, how are they to be stopped?

You cannot pigeon-hole all atheists as criminals. In the same way that not all Muslims are terrorists, atheists are not all bad people. In fact, most atheists are quite normal and not at all like people perceive them. They simply don't believe in God (maybe they were just not born into religious families), what about that would make them criminals?
