I disagree with your point of view. It ins't religion that teaches children all that you claim, it is people that do such things. Religion is a form of Control.... and if it wasn't for that, there would be a hell of a lot more criminals in this world.... but I bet it does not matter what anyone say because you believe what you believe and that is the only truth that you know.... Self taught truth.
If you want to blame anyone, blame yourself for not making a change in yourself to live a better life. Who cares about what you've been through because when it comes down to it, change starts from you outward..... So go ahead and blame religion... but remember that anger never cares about right or wrong.... it only destroys everything, from the inside out.

No religion does NOT teach these things. Children learn these sad things from the people around them especially the parents.

EXCELLENT POINTS !!
With all of the war that is fought in the name of God, and with a President who prays and believe that he is being led by God (to fight in Iraq and not to intervene in Israel/Lebanon), and with all of the religious nonsense on TV (fake evangelists pleading for money in return for miracles, etc., etc.), I would be against letting children get involved with religion.
Rather, I would want my children to do their best in school, to concentrate on history, science and math, and to believe in FACTS and not to believe in myths and stories from the bible (which cannot be proved).
And with that goal in mind, hopefully, children will grow to be productive citizens, instead of people who are determined to bring about an armageddon to satisfy some mythical prophesies.

I think it's just the opposite. I believe many non religious people are racist, etc......and especially biased against religious people.
We learn from our parents you say?
Sure we do. Our parent try to teach us right from wrong. Many say " i will let my child decide when they grow up". How do you "decide" if you have had no direction?
What if your parent said, "Let him decide if he wants to go to school when he gets older", Or even smaller things, "Let him decide whether or not he wants to brush his teeth when he gets older".
You HAVE to have direction in life. If people call taking the kids to church "brainwashing", then so be it. That child has caring parents who want to teach it right from wrong

Maybe, depends on how they are raised.
As far as our laws, as an analogy, chemistry is derived from alchemy. Sure its great, but sometimes you have to let go of outdated modes of thinking.

I'll say no. People who generalize matters (and people) cause children to be racist, heterofacsist warmongers.
