If the Bible is the instructions needed before leaving Earth, then why do astronauts go through years of educational courses in addition to years of training? Why don't they just read the Bible?

Excellent question, although I think it relates to dying rather than just going into space, otherwise maybe flying would count too!

Perhaps it is because the Bible is not a book of instructions needed before leaving earth. The Bible is a book of instructions needed in order to successfully continue on earth. According to such scriptures as Psalm 37:9, Psalm 37:11, Psalm 37:29, Psalm 37:34, and Proverbs 2:21-22, the only ones leaving the earth will be the wicked.

NASA can't guarantee that you will get out of this world alive. And that is the issue. Can you give a reasonable method of surviving life? Atheism skips the issue all together. Eastern thought traps you in a visous cycle of suffering. The entire Bible is written to get you to that exit. Like it or not, you don't have any other options.
