goodbye to boss?

When u leave office at the end of the day, do u usually pop into the boss's room and just say "i'm leaving for the day, goodnight! " or what? I want a professional way to say bye..

If there was something I needed to tell her, I tell her then. Sometimes stop to ask about something before heading out.. Normally its always, Im on my way out, need anything? (If answers no) Ok then well see you tomorrow, good night.

Well........ The Most professional way is to not say Goodbye at all........... Because its best not to leave before your Boss!!

Thanks for asking, I always wonder the same thing. Glad I read the answers. I guess I shouldn't say good bye so much. Great because I'd just rather leave but I didn't want to be rude.

you can say goodnite. Depends on if the boss is busy also. put a small plaque on your desk that says goodnite or gone for the day, that way you are being courteous but not going out of your way to say goodnite all the time, but its nice to say goodnite in person also.

I'd say it depends on the boss and the organization.

Are they sticklers on attendance?

If everyone else does this then just do it too.

I usually say : "I am leaving!"; in some special occations will add "Have a nice trip,""Happy Valentine's day!" and on. I think just say "I am leaving!" is enough. Of course, it would be better to smile when you say that. : )

if your boss is leaving the same time you are then say something, otherwise just go home

especially if you are working late, just to let him be aware of how long you work. If you are nipping out early like me, at ten to five, then just go !

I HATE BOSSES. I JUST CANNOT SEE HIM FOR THE NEXT 16 HOURS.
HE IS GROSS.
JUST SNEAK OUT OF THE OFFICE WITHOUT LETTING HIM KNOW. REALLY IT MAKES YOU FEEL SUPERIOR.
