My dog Lola loves lipstick, funny but true whenever I wear lipstick, gloss or even just plain old Vaseline she tries her hardest to get at my lips to lick it off. Is this a Lola thing or do any of your dogs do it too?

Oh dear not very nice that, your dog has to be stopped doing that big time, I don't know what the clinical name is for it but a dog that licks you round your lips is a bad thing, suggest you go see the vet about her doing this and see what he tells you, I know mama dogs dog the same thing with their pups so not good to do on humans and just think were its nose and mouth has been when you take it outside, I so love my Amber pups but I would not let her lick my mouth or face, hope you sort it out soon.

If the first time you put lipstick on and the dog wanted to lick it off, and there was all giggles and fun, you may have conditioned the dog to believe that the lipstick is for her amusement.........

Yes, anything you would put on your lips, and even lotion, after I put lotion on my dogs want to lick the lotion, that can't possibly be good for them, can it? It's funny because I use a bath and body works lotion so there is a fragrance to it and they are sneezing like crazy, but still want to lick the lotion off. I don't let them of course, but I worry I'll come home one day to find all the lotion in my house chewed to pieces. Also I found out when a friend stayed over they really like blue magic hair conditioner - it is in a jar type container and they had eaten most of it.

My crazy ACD does this too. Vaseline, bath and body works any kind of lip gloss some times even pushes his head through the shower curtain when am using herbal essence fruit shampoo and conditioner to lick at the suds. I am forced to lock him out the room when i lotion up the constant licking drives me nuts

It could be due to the taste of lipstick. It will not cause any harm to her but don't encourage it.

in the wild puppy's will lick Around there mums mouth to have food regurgitated for them. domestic dogs do the same to there owners your dog can smell things around your mouth so it thinks you have bought food for her and licks your mouth to encourage you to throw it up for her.

Yes my dog does this.
It tastes different and they can smell it.
Also when I put hand-cream or lotion on my skin she tries to get that off as well!

Lipstick is made from animal fat. She probably thinks it's food.

I just killed my puppy. the little shite would,nt go out when i poured that petrol on the fucker.
