When I save on Half Life 2, it crashes.?

Every time, without fail. I turned the autosave off by turning the files to read only, but now it crashes when I manual save. This is really pissing me off!

And it looks like you've asked this question more than once to no avail. sorry bout that - circle for a landing I guess.
