We have 2 kittens, 1 male and 1 female,(siblings) they are about 6-8 weeks old, after having them for almost 2 weeks with no incidents of them making any messes one of them or possibily both, but we think the male is peeing (only) outside of the litter box .any help would be appreciated on possibly why and how to stop it.

They're rebelling against the man! YOU! So I suggest you buy them some Phish albums and wait for their hippi phase to pass. It's a phase most kittens go through. If you can't find Phish Bob Dylan can substitute.

Hey that is funny, but take this into account that:
Positive and Negative reinforcement, this explains how you handle the Kitten and basically feeds them.
The positive reinforcement is when you give something to any response perform by any living organism, for example, a dog if you teach it by allocating when to eat through ringing a belt, it gets use to. Therefore, you might have attempt to do this to the kitten, or try to reinforce there response by the good they are doing and see the changes for yourself.
Likewise, the negative reinforcement, entails the notion of punishing any bad behaviour or not rewarding.
Hence, iam advising you to use the positive reinforcement, such as giving the kitten food right afta peeing into the litter box, and don't give it food when it pee outside the kitten. Do this frequently and never stop doing it, then check out the difference for yourself.
Thx.

Here's the problem. Cats don't like peeing in a place another cat has pee'd. The smell of another cats pee is repulsive to them so they go someplace else.
Sorry, I don't know how you can stop this behaviour apart from getting them separate litter boxes.
Also they were separated from their mother way too early and before she had really instilled behavours in them. Pedigree breeders never separate kittens from their mother until 12 weeks.

Have you changed anything to the litter box? If yes, maybe the cat doesn't like it because it was so use to the old one. If you didn't change it maybe the cat is telling you there's something in there. LIke a bug, ant or something. Because cat's pee are dangerous. Yes I know it sounds weird but its true. If one part of your body touches the pee, then you can go blind. Its true

Maybe something in side the litter box is changed and they don't like it.

Put the litter box and them in the tub and feed them out-side the litter box, animals don't pee where they eat, so they should be retrained to go in the litterbox, becasue it is separate from where they are eating.

Cats have a pretty sensitive sense of smell. Try changing the litter once a day.

Maybe you need to change the kitty litter because there is nowhere to pee in it.
