insureance companys will only pay what your car is worth, to find the out goto www.kbb.com , put in all your info what condition it was in before the accident. if it comes back out to be more then 480/.00 fight it, if its the same or lower, its a waste of your time to goto court because you will lose over the insureance comapny. you might win if you got to court with the guy that hit you. get a repair esitmate on your car first then go.

Generally that's the case, however a few coverage businesses can argue wether, or no longer you have been visiting at a risk-free distance, or no longer. Its dumb I realize considering that even supposing you have been there may be nonetheless the risk of being driven into the opposite driving force in entrance of you, from the influence of the driving force that rearended you. The purpose theyr'e handiest paying 30% is considering that there driving force isn't one hundred% responsible, he hit you, however did not reason the twist of fate.. Most most likely your gonna need to besides what ever fee they present, after which dossier for your possess collision coverage along with your coverage. Maybe the adj from there can present a few information on how one can get complete payout, however obviously no longer.. Otherwise you'll be able to take a look at a legal professional, however plenty of attorneys do not love to contact auto injuries until there may be individual damage, and there no longer miracle staff... Just reason you rent a legal professional does not imply the coverage compay is gonna spit out complete fee.. They have attorneys 2, and obviously a couple of for those varieties of instances... Good Luck, Oh, and submitting for your possess coverage does not precisely imply your premiums will pass up...

Unfortunately if the blue book value on your car is $480.00 then that's all you're going to get.

However, I just did a quick check on that model and it looks like they might be offering you the average trade-in value. They should pay you average retail, but they can and will deduct for any pre-existing damage, excess mileage, etc.

Check the retail value of your car at http://www.kbb.com and demand that the insurance company pay you the retail value of your car. If your car was in unusually good condition and you can prove it, you should ask for more. The average retail for a '92 Tempo LX is about $1,600.00. That's about the most you can expect to get; hope its enough to solve your problem.

Good luck!

We had the same experience several years ago. What the insurance would give us did not pay off what we owed on the car. So we were paying a very long time for a car we didn't have because some guy plowed into us. That is the way of the world, unfortunately.

I had a different prob- 91 plymouth sundance. my car was not badly damaged- bumper was cemented tothe car, some backlights busted- all in all, only $400 in damage. rather than paying to get it fixed, they totaled the car, saying they would give me $700, but only sent me $300. they refused to send me to other $400 due to driver door missing a hinge. apparently that decreased the value of the car by $400, when it only takes about $20 to fix. insurance companies just dont want to pay, thats all it is. now, if your focus is just a regular, only in good condition, that might be all it is worth. www.kbb.com will help you figure out if that is correct

I have gotten into the same problem, the insurance company is trying to make a deal with you where they lose the least money. I do agree, you should get a lawyer to fight for you, if you win, you may "earn" enought money to purchase another car! This has happend to me b4, and we hired a lawyer and sat back, that's all there is to it, u won't lose much, but have so much to gain. Hope this helps!!

If you can prove your car is worth more than that, take them to small claims court.

Hell no, make them fix your car to you satisfaction or replace it. Don't settle for anything less.
