there will be about 10 billion people on earth, or 10 thousand, depending on whether ww3 occurs or not.
in space? If we have 10 billion people, then 100 will go to the moon, 100 to mars and 100 to some asteroid in the asteroid belt.
The moon base and the asteroid base will need regular supplies in food and water to survive. (+ technological supplies)
The mars base will only need technological supplies.
The supplies for the moon and the asteroid base will come from either earth (because there are plentyfull there) or mars (since it will be more energy efficient to launch a rocket from there : less gravity)
500 years from now, the asteroid base will be an asteroid colony and will be self sufficient enough to move to another star, holding in its confines 10 to 100 thousand humans. The trip will last a few thousand years.
of course, if ww3 occurs before that, then we're back to middle age technology. and forget about space for at least 1 thousand years : we need a huge workforce (=population) to go out there

You need to ask a futurologist.
Governments use them all the time, as their acute perspective on the world allows them to envisage future trends much more accurately than we ever could; using lots of scientific and sometimes not so public information, on many countries' natural resources, population, climate, political persuasions, financial assets etc.
They take in this data, draw conclusions, and then advise governments on many aspects, including military spending, environmental policies, social policies, investments, and other important issues.
These are very smart people indeed.

The earth will spin faster than today as the heat caused by the 'greenhouse effect' will be intenser.
The ice in north pole and south pole will melt and the whole will be flooded by water. Water based creatures will be the only survivors. Although the weaker one still perished.
The Volcanic activities will be intense and spew a poisonous clouds, and lavas will flow out. The volcanoes will be blasting the hell out of their existence around the world. Trees will be burning all around the world and no more oxygen supply in result by such calamities.
Where would we be? Why worry? Only the children of tomorrow would experience them. Maybe war would inhibit and annihilate us all before such calamity occurred. Or pollution will kill us all first before the insanity of the war monger and power seekers be suffocated and be killed by it.
The poisonous clouds will be covering the earth along with the carbon dioxides atmosphere as they are now part of our atmosphere.
Anyway, we are still in the present. We could still be doing the best we could to divert the scenarios. Jesus would still be coming to save us as he himself predicted the situation of the earth when he will be reborn. So, God bless friends, God bless but beware of the false prophet!!!

If the population doubles every 35 years, then there'll be more than 20 billion people.

The maximum population Earth can sustainably support is 4.5 billion people. We are already 6.5 billion... So, what do you think will happen? Something radical, I suppose. Good or bad.
