Newtons 3rd law of motion says "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". This when applied to the actions of a person can be seen as sin, good actions and results. Hence religion is not the only place to search for answers. Science too can give answers. But todays science too amateur and religion with all its wisdom could be a better choice, and you can understand that if you go deeper into religion in its real sense and properly understand it with the help of a proper guide.

Sure I can think of one purpose of creating the issue of sin, justice, and death, and offering a solution. The Mafia often comes in and wrecks a business, thus creating the problem like death in religion, and then the Mafia gives you the opportunity to partake in their solution that saves you from that problem, just like religion.

Just like religion, they create the problem, and then offers a solution.

Religions can explain anything they can imagine.Much like the Egyptians believed that the sun was Ra's chariot which explained why it seemed to rise and fall like a big wheel rolling across the sky.As religions evolved so did their explanations. But that doesn't make them right.Just creative.

Medical science has answers for life after death. There isn't.

Many non-believers in philosophy, such as Nietchze (sp), come to mind. They look at ethics in a non-spiritual way.

there are non religious answers to those questions, they just aren't the answers that you may want to hear. they aren't all warm and fuzzy, someone loves you kind of crap.

there is no life or judgment after death.

justice does have meaning outside religion. think about it, if god told you to kill 8 thousand innocent babies, would you do it? would god telling you to do it make it right? most answer, no, god would never say something like that (uh, remember egypt people?) because its wrong. why is it wrong? because it just is. AH HAH. so its wrong not because god says its wrong but because it just is wrong, outside of god. no ethics can exist outside of god then.

what about people getting what they deserve? a murderer who is never caught dies like a normal person. he never suffers, and lives out his life killing innocent people. we like to think that god will send him to hell, right? wishful thinking. all this means is that we shouldn't rely on god to punish people for their wrongs, WE need to do it. we need to get off our asses and try to find these criminals because its our responsibility to make this planet safe for our kids. one guy got off easy, but the next one is being sent to the tossed salad man. and that's justice.
