i do not think we should have any bright intelligent minds wasted in war. If it is something u want to do and it seems right to you then do it. I am not sure but if u got yourself a lawyer and made the point to say what u just said legally u could possibly change that rule!

Well, lets see here, I am a soldier stationed at Ft Bragg, SF mecca if you will and I think I can answer that question for you, Yes the training is very tough, and while I am sure there are omen who could make it through, a woman physical make up is not made for the types of things they do. 1. Women's center of gravity if you will is in there hips, a mans is in there sholders, thus why most men cannot hula hoop, ruck marching the distances that they march (100+ miles) with an 80l+lbs rucksack put a tremendous amount of strain on a womans body, and will most likely result in an injury. 2. Women have different hygiene needs than a man, its no problem for me to live in the woods for 30+ days with no shower or anything, but it would present a problem for a woman. I hope this has answered your question

Do you really want to do this?!

My husband is in the Marine Corps and personally I would never want to do half the **** he has to. That's not even special forces or anything.

Going to the field for 30 days in 130 degree weather and you can only shower once a week.

That right there is enough for me not to want to.

If you really would want to though then I'm sure they'll have some type of postion for you somewhere in the military.

My husbands pack for these field ops only weighs about 40 lbs less then I do. After hiking with it for 12 hours it would probably kill my back.

He's got a hike on Friday. 12 miles with his gear and weapon in the 115 degree heat.

That's not special forces, that's not training for Iraq. That's just something they do.

If you really want to do something like that then join the military you'll be able to do all of that ****. You don't need to be special forces at all.

Just remember though you can't quit. You can't give up. You can't get fired.

You're stuck there for 4 years. So if you don't like it and it's not what you thought it would be then you have to suck it up and deal with it.

Basically, it is physically and mentally demanding. The PT is set in stone and can not be modified. You try carrying 100lb ruck sack, up hill, in the heat of the day, climb the side of a mountain, using upper body strenght, and then sleeping for 20 minutes, if that, before assaulting some tangos, and then hike out the way you came in.

The reason many of the elite groups do not allow women, is that they simply can not do the required physical tasks. When 90% of males wash out, how is a woman, who lacks the physical strength that a man has, going to compete? There may be some women out there that can, and if so more power to them. But generally, they can't.

You failed to list and define "endure difficult training".

How may hours can one remain in a "box", 1/2 ones height?
How many hours can one "hang, off the ground, tied by ones wrists"?

Just two endurance tests. Most fail.
My brother-in-law, Green Beret in Nam, came back with nerve damage from this.
Achieve a minimum of 60 points on each event

If a POW was put through this by a US soldier, he would go to prison.

actually i dont think its unfair... women cant be special forces operators... thats all... no one said anything about not being able to carry stuff.... I think the main thinking here is not that women are not supposed to train to be soldiers and fight and kill and stuff, but its just that men think its not right for women to go around being tough and all... its just an old thinking that will never truly go away..

Women can qualify as long as they pass the rigorous training and requirements.
