Sears outlet store. Many people have gone there and bought fridges, washers, etc.. but were there only once. John is asking where to go and since no one can give exact directions, he gets it in his head that therefore it does not exist. this is a computer geek who used yahoo to 'search' and when it didn't give a accurate spot he decides Sears outlet doesn't exist and therefore everyone is lying.. I mean come on! what an idiot.. all I had to do was search other engines and find it, but for 2 years he has held onto the belief that since he couldn't get directions it never existed. that is just part of it. I feel sorry any kids he may have that have to grow up with his mentality..

Thanks to everyone and your answers but let me say that it is frustration on other things that lead me to ask this question. I already proved to him that his theory was inaccurate by showing him via Google map the location... The dude would agrue that the sky is green or grass is purple. It's all good, but I can't fathom his personality. So glad I moved and no longer have him as a roommate! ;-)

Since you are so argumentative about it, Maybe he is just messing with your head? Geeks can be so sarcastic and neurotic, I know a few, family and friends. whether you see it as Good, bad, ugly, or annoying, its just the way they are, no changing it.
There are other ways to get around it, you find it yourself, and email the results to him with the link, the way you found it. Sears probably has a store finder that uses a Zip Code. They were Recently bought by Kmart, so if Kmart has a store finder, sears will most likely have the same thing, besides it is fairly common feature on Dept store websites, they will even give u a map if necessary.

Everyone gave you answers, but I'm going to give you a solution. Since he is stubborn and frustrated, tell him he's right, and that there is no Sears store accessible to him. Remember the saying, you can not help a person who doesn't want to be helped.

Oh no...one of those who believes EVERYTHING on the Internet is gospel? Let him pay full price for his washer.
I deal with people like that every day. They will phone my office, ask a question, and I will answer. They will phone back and hit another extension, ask the same question to see if they get the same answer. I have known people to run the entire directory because they are searching for what they want to hear, which isn't always the answer they get. Then, they argue with you.
Life's full of them. We deal with them, shrug our shoulders and move on.

Its best to help these kind of people out cos whatever an adult is it is his basis of his childhood trauma etc. if you just let them go and not help them they get worse. let them know that they can do better if they try ever put them down. they can get better with a little help and patience from anyone. imaging what we would be if we were in the same position.
