Nope, having a tatoo dont matter. If you are a real a$$ hole, and hate the working man with all your heart ,you qualify. You must be willing to over look rape, child abuse, murder, and any crime that doesn't bring in money for city or state. You must be willing to share confiscated drugs with fellow officers. You must be able to spot the smallest infraction of the law so you can write a ticket. You can write a ticket to anyone except other officers or city officals.

Go for it if the above is what you want to do.But talk to a chaplin first, you may be possesed by the devil and dont even know it.

Some departments have a policy that prohibits tattoos that show while in uniform. If the tattoo wouldn't be covered by your shirt collar, they may ask you to cover it with a band-aid or something while on duty. Looks stupid, but at least you've got a job.

It might, but I just got pulled over the other day by a police officer who had a black spider tattooed on his left forearm....and I think that is a sign of a gang or something....so I think as long as it is small and covered you can get the job.

It could. Many agencies are making officers with visible tattoos cover them with long sleeves.
It also depends on the kind of tat and areas you would be patroling.

yes it would. police officers can have tattoos, but they may not be visible to the public, when you have a uniform on. so, if your tattoo is where the uniform can not cover it up, that probably would ruin your chances..

Tattoo means many things such as membership in a cult. Thus, when you have a tattoo, you will be investigated for it and becomes a disadvantage in applying for jobs.

Maybe, only if you can see it. Can it be covered up by the neck collar? If not, you might consider another occupation, or laser surgery.

Seems to me that would be a good cover for an undercover cop.
