Go to a border city (especially in TX or NM), the borders there are already basically open borders. There are laws that designate these areas as "free-trade zones" (usually the city limits on both sides), and people from the neighboring country don't need a visa to be there (i.e. Mexicans in El Paso and Americans in Juarez). It's really like one big city where people shop, eat, live, work, etc. without regards to borders, with some people crossing back and forth many times a day. Most signs are in English and Spanish on both sides of the border, and the majority of people on both sides are bilingual. Not growing up here, it took some getting used to, but it's really an incredible way of life. Being ethno-centric is no way to live your life, embrace diversity and free-market economics.

In order for that to happen, Mexico would have to agree to become a part of the United States and the US would have to want them to join the union. Like that´s gonna happen...

I hope to God we never have open borders with them. We have been overrun already. There are far too many of them in our country now as it is. They have ruined so many of our small towns and some of our bigger cities. Not to mention what they have done to our social services and our bigger hospitals being bankrupted by them.

I, for one, will never condone open borders with them.

Won't be much different than now, except the border patrol will lose their jobs.
