if you got short hair.. put some gloves on and use your fingertips.
long hair.. get a friend to brush the tips and wrap it in foil.
if you got long hair and layers.. go to a salon.

I did this last year for V festival in blue. Looks great!! If your hair is short, simply mix up the dye, borrow a friend, dry your hair upside down and put a light spraying of hairspray or fixing spray on it all over to help hold it up, then apply the hair dye - either using your finger tips for a more messed up look, or by applying the dye to a smallish square of tin foil and, holding the foil horizontally to the hair sticking up, brush it backwards and forwards until all the hair is covered. Its better to use less dye on the foil and do the brushing more often than have it too think so it kinda goes gloopy and blobs!! Good luck!

Part out the bits you want to dye. Lay them in turn onto strips of kitchen foil , apply the dye and fold up each foil. This way the red dye will stay inside the foil and not touch the rest of the hair . Leave for the developing time according to the instructions then take out the foils and wash all the hair thoroughly.

You can buy a thing thats like a shower cap, but you pull the tips of your hair through and then put on the dye. They only cost a few dollars and you can get them most places that sell hair dye.

Depends. How long's your hair? How much of it do you want tipped?
As the person said above: a highlight cap would work, or if it's longer, slap some red on the ends of individual lengths with your fingers (wearing gloves of course!) and wrap them in foil.

use cream dyes, wrap the rest of the hair, do it like a pro! & wait for 30-45 mins. then rinse.

to die the tips of ur hair, tie a hair bobble round the ends or ur hair and just die that bit, this will give u the effect ur lookin for

what i do is get a toothbrush and brush bleach into the ends of the hair, then i wrap the ends, in sections, in tin foil and leave it for a while

Don't do it, it's soooo 2000. It's horrible but if you insist, you can go to a hairdressers (a very dated one)
